In mid 2010 The Barbarian Group was approached by Lenovo for creative ways to incorporate all the social mentions that the company gets worldwide on blogs and in press. We brainstormed and came up with a few ideas we are still excited about, but after careful consideration The World’s First Social Logo came out on top.
The premise is that the Lenovo logo, like the company itself, is made up of worldwide customers, products, and press. For the homepage of Lenovo we created a logo that transforms from glassy metallic to mosaic tiles populated with social network commentary, images, and products from around the world. Customers can interact with the logo by mousing over to push and pull tiles into view. They can click on them to zoom in and get a detailed description. From there each tile links out to the source material that populates it.
